for those that mistook its character as those from Gundam Seed or Gundam Seed Destiny like i did, it wasn't. the character designs were created by the same person that did Gundam Seed n Gundam Seed Destiny, Hisashi Hirai (平井久司), thus resulted to the similar appearances. Fafner started out as a 26-episodes anime series in 2004, followed by a special episode in 2005, now its movie made an appearance in the Japan cinema on Christmas 2010. the story focused on a group of children who pilot the mechas named Fafners, for the battle against giant aliens named Festum. below are some images n trailer:
sequels:
- Fafner (2004)
- Sokyuu no Fafner: Single Program: Right of Left (2005)
- Sokyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth (2010)
Giant aliens? Well..being so advanced means you will be seeing extraterrestrial beings right?

nothing too impressive, was it? it didn't exactly had me eager to watch the movie myself. ha! but for the fact that it looked like the characters that i watched previously, was interesting.

i would say it wasn't too impressive an anime. probably the reason why it wasn't too popular for so many years?
