Dark Prophecy #1: Reckoning (2012)

Reckoning

Kat had a secret she kept for 17 years, she could see and hear the dead. up until now she had ignore the strange images and whispering voices. but things were not so simple anymore. increasingly frightening nightmares haunted her, spirits appearing and disappearing, locking her attention on them, making her froze in her steps, even resorting to physical contact. in the meanwhile, a new neighbor moved into the empty house next to theirs. Lovell was good looking yet mysterious, he seemed to have the ability to appear when he was most needed, and held disturbing amount of knowledge regarding her.

with plenty hint of romance and action since the very beginning, the book was easily read in one sitting. the climax was completely unexpected, while the cliffhanger was enough to leave me wanting more from the next book. Kat was a lovable character. following her perspective, it was easy to see why Lovell turned out to be both charming and disturbing. his honesty since the very beginning would be perfect but then, things would definitely get less interesting if he did. with the perfect flow of storyline, i just couldn't get enough.

Fantasista Doll

Uzume was a former champion of trading card game competition. she was trusted with a special device that contained 6 powerful Fantasista Doll. these dolls were virtual beings who resided in the cards, controlled by their master.

at first glance, the series felt like a mahou shoujo anime, but to be exact, the dolls were all part of a program, making it somewhat Science-Fiction as well. with such an unusual plot, it took some effort to truly appreciate the series. the card fights between card masters was performed with the intention of obtaining the cards of the opponent by winning. card masters were assigned a set of dolls, which were basically life-sized artificial beings that materialized as they were summoned. Uzumu was a likable character that bonded with her dolls through the episodes, between some card fights. though the series wouldn't exactly stood out, but in overall, the series was still enjoyable enough to sit through.

Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai!

Yuta was an university freshman. he lost his parents since young and was raised by his sister Yuri. after Yuri got married, Yuta had been living alone. one day, Yuri visited and asked her brother to take care of her 3 daughters. he unwillingly accepted the job until he was informed of the missing plane Yuri took with her husband. in order to prevent the 3 children from being adopted separately, Yuta decided to take in all girls, where the life of a strange family began.

having to take care of 3 children, Yuuta basically put his carefree life behind him as he grew overnight into a big brother, even father at once. the major storyline was very much predictable, but with 4 very different characters to complicate things, every episodes turned out to be quite an enjoyment. Sora was the oldest sister of the 3, she was shy yet tsudere towards Yuta. Miu was the middle child, she was the most matured. Hina was the youngest sister, the most adorable and childlike. despite the seemingly light theme, there were responsibilities and impacts that targeted Yuta's life.
