Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)

Bram Stroker (1847-1912) was an author. his novel "Dracula" was made into a highly successful horror film. Stoker developed his most famous character, Count Dracula, from a real person - Prince Vlad The Impaler(1431-1476) of Romania - who liked to impale his enemies and drink their blood. in most of his novel, his vampire protagonist was named Count Wampyr. during his research he came across a footnote that in Romanian, Dracula meant Devil. liking the name for that reason, Stoker changed the name of his vampire from Wampyr to Dracula.

some backgrounds on the movie:
- director: Francis Ford Coppola
- novel: Bram Stroker (named "Dracula")
- released: 1992
- casts : Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins
- language: English, Romanian
- genre: Thriller/Romance/Horror (horror .. not so)

plot: the film begins with Count Dracula vowing to rise from his grave and take revenge on God, whom allowed his beloved to die n her soul damned as she committed suicide, while he defended Christianity on the battlefield. 4 centuries later .. Jonathon Harker was sent to Dracula place, only to find himself trapped in the castle. Dracula travels to London, in search of Harker's fiancée, Wilhelmina "Mina" Murray, who he believes is the reincarnation of his wife.

i love the old background of this film. old castles that belongs to the rich. rich colors in the scenery and costumes. it really bring the goth out of the film. the film have the feel of an old silent movie. it's not as scary as its genre has state, but i was more interested in the overall story. it went pretty well. :)
