another older version of typical vampire movies, where the Vampires are all bad guys. (boo-hoo ..) plot: Jack Crow was a vampire hunter, teaming with a group of skilled hunters. they hunt down vampires' nests/houses. until they met the Master vampire - Valek - where things got turned around. the group was slaughtered, leaving Jack n Montoya behind. holding Katrina - a prostitute that was bitten by Valek - as hostage, they escaped. being bitten by Valek, Katrina has a telepathic link to the Master. Jack uses her to track down Valek. Jack must retrieved the Berseires Cross before it falls into the hand of Valek. the cross will make Valek immune to the sun, allowing him to create a new generation of vampires unafraid of sun. never remembered James Woods, in any recent movies, to be as annoying as he was in this. he always occurs to me to be a calm n wise man. but in this movie, he was trying too hard to be all tough n badass. other than hurting people that tries to help him, screaming foul languages here n there, n yelling nothing but "die !! you f***king bastard die !!" when he meet with every single vampire .. i can't remember anything else about him while watching this movie. haha. well anyway, it was because the film was basically focusing on his so-called "heroic" actions. making him the "rambo" of this film. no offense. the most interesting part of the film, was the attempt to explain the vampires' origin. n for Valek to be the Master Vampire, the first vampire. a little too storytelling-like, but an interesting viewpoint nevertheless.
