doggy..

being a thickly-furred double coat dog (meaning having both a soft undercoat n a coarser topcoat), the Siberian Husky is unsuitable for our climate. moved from one place to another, it has even less time to build up its immune system. resulted to be infected by the deadly dog disease - the Canine Distemper (狗瘟).

Canine distemper is a fatal infectious disease that mainly has respiratory (breathing n digestion) n neurological signs.

signs are such as fever, thickening of the footpads, diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, coughing, labored breathing n loss of appetite. if serious, twitching of muscles n seizures might occurs.

there is No cure so far for such disease. totally dependable on the dog's immune system.

babysitting was tough. we were challenged to bring the very sick pup "back to life" for the past whole week. besides injections n medicines, as the doctor informed us, it solely depends on the dog itself to fight the sickness from within. the experiences, on the contrary, was nonexchangeable. as we continuously took care of it for days, although tedious, but watching it regaining strength was rewarding.

  3. I got stumped at first when you say it's a husky dog, because I know they looks "fluffier" than that.

Then found out it's local. I guess animals does adept, even if it's doing poorly.

    Sad sad..

    "thickening of the footpads"
    not soft at all... zetsuboushita!

  4. joshua: 会的、会的,我的猫咪当然会再回来。;) 你的兔子害羞吧。:p

akira: of course not !! yuki has a high sense of territory defensiveness. no dogs, or cats are allowed. ;)

rollakid: it is not local actually. despite the size, it is still a pup. there should be a "fur changing" stage where it's fur will thicken (n probably darken) n grew into an actual adult husky. it is a siberian after all. not only thickening footpads, it cracks too. zetsuboushita!

BTW, Princess? this doggy doesn't look sick for sure, but he was brought to the vet for check up rite? Just guessing heh ehh...

  10. akira: haha. can't blame him for fearing his territory being taken over. he's probably a little more sensitive than the other cats. ;)

barbie: it was brought to the vet after continuous diarrhea symptoms. it was quite shocking to realize the sickness was that serious. so princess loves small sized dogs. :) i on the other hand, prefer dogs to be big. just so i can pounce them (or most probably be pounced in return XD).

deimos: no. (copied from my reply to akira's comment) yuki has a high sense of territory defensiveness. no dogs, or cats are allowed. :)

ivyl: thanks !! glad you enjoyed your stay here. :)

宝茹: yes, it is a siberian husky after all, suppose to be suitable for cold weather. :)

aaron: but it isn't. it was just the impression. :)

  11. Haha, no problem, maybe you can do a signboard for him, saying that "Punk Territory!!!" XD

  12. akira: but i don't think the .. cats n dogs can read the signboard. :p

  13. Haha, just for fun only... How do the cats and dogs communicate to each others, I wonder...

  14. akira: they should only have warning or friendly signals i suppose. animals aren't as complicated as human. :D

  15. o_o, who's dog is this? i found Siberian Husky is interesting, especially the looks of its eyes part. Looks fierce >8) but actually not, the color make them looks fierce..hahah:D

  16. pui: it's a friend's dog. there you're talking, i believe you like dogs, since you know better than some other who jumps to the conclusion that certain dogs are fierce, all because of how they look.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Haha, or the way they shouted at each other? Haha, somesort like whispering?

    ReplyDelete
  18. akira: barking n meowing each other as warning. XD i can only understand yuki's meowing expression, kinda different even with other cats.

  20. Haha, yesterday night my friend brought out her toy poodle and showed to us... It is so cute!!! Chubby neh!

  21. pui: intimidated i guess ?? i prefer dogs to be huge in size if compared to smaller size dogs. for smaller size animals, i might as well rely on cats.

akira: poodle needs to be trimmed its fur quite often right ?? like tshizu. if bigger i can place my weight on it, that's why i prefer larger size dogs. XD

    ReplyDelete
  22. Haha, yeah! It is so chubby after all! And very "manja" also! Hehe...

  23. akira: small sized dogs feel like cats in some form. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Levian:
Yup, but this kind of small dogs need to be take care very carefully...

    ReplyDelete
  25. akira: but isn't all pets need to be taken care of very carefully, especially during the beginning phase ??

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yup, but as I observed, dogs' livings are better than cats, haha..

    ReplyDelete
  27. akira: living ?? what are you referring to ??

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hmm, the living with the owners...

    ReplyDelete
  29. akira: the environment, you mean ??
