Constantine (2005)

based on the Hellblazer comic book, it was a story about a supernatural detective named John Constantine. approached by a policewoman to solve a mysterious suicide of her twin sister. she refused to accept the fact that her sister committed suicide. the investigation brought them through hell, fighting against angels n demons. the film was definitely intriguing enough to held our complete attention. watching it for a few times, it continued to impress us. mysterious, thrilling, n easily captured our interest.

Avril Lavigne: What The Hell (2011)

after a 3 years marriage with Deryck Whibley from Sum41, Avril filed for divorce on 9 October 2009. the marriage has official ended on 16 November 2010. n since April 2010, she has been dating Brody Jenner. on January 2010, Avril worked with Disney on Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland's clothing designs. she asked if she could write a song for the film, n the song (Alice) was later used for the movie's ending theme.

Avril is set to release her 4th album (Goodbye Lullaby) on 8 March 2011. the lead single of the album (What the Hell) was released on 11 January 2011. she mentioned that the song was a "broad message about personal freedom". some complaint the video being too commercial, since she used her products - perfumes (Black Star, Forbidden Rose) n clothings (Abbey Dawn) in the video. but despite all the gossips n comments, the video still look awesome! watch out for the blonde salesgirl standing at the entrance of the vintage shop, it's her mum's first cameo appearance! unlike the previous albums, she is now also involved with song writing. below is the video for sharing:

Koukaku no Regios (2009) 鋼殻のレギオス

the world was taken over by polluted creatures, they were gathered by the academy's squad team. together with his new teammates, they have to defend the city from the dangerous creatures. with a little humor here n there, n intense actions in almost all episodes, the anime was able to held my attention, wanting to know how things goes.

yuki (ゆき、雪)

growing confident by day, he has become so charming it was difficult not to throw him a glance every time our path crossed. seeing each other everyday doesn't once reduce the urge to call out to him or staring after him, with his tail swaying so freely from side to side, roaming freely in n out of the area, checking intensely for intruders.

Killers (2010)

Jen went on a vacation to Nice (France) with her parents when she met her ideal man, Spencer, whom she married soon after. on the outside, he looked like any average young man, but he was in fact an undercover, government-hired assassin. he found true love by meeting her, thus opted out of his assassination life. their perfect marriage came to a halt when their neighbors started killing them for 20 million dollars. anyone they had been in contact with for the past 3 years, colleagues, friends, neighbors, could turned out to be an assassin. the couple were on the run for their lives.

at first glance, the film seemed almost too random to catch one's attention. but i was proven dead wrong. they were perfect together! i was more than impressed that the film managed to pack both humor n action in one, n still come out with being successful. some might find it slightly cheesy but not to worry, it was not enough to make the film lame. despite all the rushing scenes, the duo were so loving it was difficult to miss or not be charmed.

Werecats #2: Rogue (2008)

Faythe, a female werecat, agreed her father to stay in the Pride (the werecats territories) for 2 n a half year as an Enforcer after the incident of being kidnapped in book 1, Stray (2007). she was teamed up with Marc, her ex-fiancé who became her boyfriend again ever since she was back; they were assigned all over the country for missions, by their Alpha, her father. when she thought she left her college life behind for good, her past came hunting her down. the day she was brought back from college to the Pride, her human boyfriend, Andrew, accidentally became a Stray (humans who became werecats after being scratched or bitten by a werecat) due to her carelessness. being left behind, he struggled to survive the scratch-fever. soon he came charging for revenge, with the help of an even deadlier werecat, the last survived villain of the tabbies kidnapping project in book 1, Stray (2007).

S.A: Special A (2008) スペシャル・エー

they were the 7 top elite students in their high school, thus enrolled into 1 class. while they fought to maintain their academic standard, they had to solve family problems by allowing friends to lend them a helping hand. the anime mainly focused on friendship, their strong bond; but at the same time it was about their bitter sweet romance. despite the lengthy episodes, it was truly entertaining.

Equanimity.

one has only so much strength kept in the body. yet despite the urgency n stressful time limit, happiness lingered in the air. echo sounded tortuously loud from every drilling, every hammering. when she was about to lift her head to glare at the equipment capable of making such vexatious noise, she was caught by the sight of his sweat covered body, glistering under the faint sunlight that escaped into the enclosure. his expression so concentrated it made her heart skipped a thousand beats. determined that all hard work will pay off, she kept her fingers crossed n focused on what is important, n hoping he will see what she sees.

Sex and The City (2008)

i wasn't a fan of its drama series, but the movie turned out to be surprisingly touching. i laughed n cried my way out of the cinema. the movie's plot lingered around glamor n love in the big city. the focus, however, was on their friendship. supporting each other through difficult times.

Unearthed.

more than once she tried to influence her customers, pushing them towards the direction she wanted with their decisions. decisions that favored only herself n her pack. deceiving those who trusted her, willingly paying for her knowledge n service, yet completely ignorant of being conned. swore to satisfy her customer, words were merely tools for her to gain further benefit. she was a true hunter behind the persuasive smile; skillful, coercive, n the deadliest among the pack. one after another fell into her trap. the rest of her pack revealed weaknesses n obvious contradicted attitudes, which unfortunately were often brushed aside. signs one ought to be paying attention to, especially with whom one was signing a contract with.

Mayoi Neko Overrun! (2010) 迷い猫オーバーラン

Takumi was adopted by a confectionery store manager. the store manager loves picking up stray cats off the street. one day, she picked up a mysterious girl n left. together with his classmates, Takumi accepted the new girl into their circle, while she secretly tried to regain her balance n decide what she wants to do next.

instead of focusing solely on the mysterious girl, the anime actually focused on the admirations the girls had for Takumi. with different characteristic, each of the girls have their very own approach of showing their interest towards him. first half of the anime were simply lovely! however the second half was mostly random, a little dragging n sometimes out of its topic, only a minimal part remained attached to its original storyline.

Ardor.

hairs fell under their scissors, floating weightlessly as none care to pay them any close attention, hitting the floor with a soft swoosh. she arrogantly lead them ahead, taking charge whenever someone was lost or missing an instruction or two. standing in front of one of the mirrors, he proudly boasted how fortunate they are to be together for days n nights. doing what they like for life, he showed ultimate passion. but apparently he wasn't dependable enough for her, nor did she like being told what to do, she bulldozed her way through the non-stop flowing customers that came charging through that door. reading her expressions, he quietly took in all her rejections n switched on an acceptance mode. love reflected in his eyes, the harsh treatment reduced nothing he felt so deeply for her.

The Town (2010)

Charlestown was a small town with a high rate of armed robberies. Doug lived with his 3 friends, whom they treated each others like families since his mother ran off n his father sent to prison. the foursome successfully carried out multiple bank robberies. but during one of the robbery, they were forced to take the bank manager as hostage. though they released her unharmed, the moment he walked up to her on the street n began falling in love with her, the situation started to get out of hand. FBI agents grabbed hold of her with the aim to bring them down.

better an actor than a director, Ben Affleck failed to convince us that he was good. somehow, having the rest of the 3 guys in their criminal gang dead, while he successfully escaped to some beautiful beach to spent the rest of his life, wasn't exactly a perfect ending for a film this genre. however, the plot was smart, especially the successful robberies', getting away with it without any evidences being left behind, walking away without drawing any suspicions. the process of the robberies were exciting n fast-paced! all it lacked was a fair ending n justice.

Zodiac: Ophiuchus

Ophiuchus (pronounced oh-fee-you-cuss) in Greek meant "serpent-bearer", commonly represented as a man grasping the snake. it was formerly referred to as Serpentarius, a Latin word meaning the same as its current name.

the latest astrological rumor of the 13th zodiac sign being Ophiuchus started when astronomy professor (Parke Kunkle) talked to the newspaper n caused people to jump into an astrological identity chaos. people started to wonder if they would went to bed a Gemini n woke up a Taurus. expert astrologer (Rick Levine) said "Ophiuchus has nothing to do with Astrology. it has to do with the stars, not a sign, but a constellation. there are 4 seasons, therefore making it 12 zodiac signs, impossible for a 13th." few astrologers follow the constellation-based zodiac, but it was only by 1%. so there you go, listen to the experts, but don't believe everything until all the facts are checked. we may think we understand astrology but probably not thorough enough to truly understand it. for now, there will be no Ophiuchus zodiac sign for any of us.

Bakemonogatari (2009) 化物語

Araragi was originally a vampire. though there were still traces of him being a vampire, he was once again human. however, he was able to see supernatural beings. when others looked for him for assistance with their supernatural problems, he found it difficult to reject. he then became involved in their lives, helping them to rid their problems.

an interesting anime with a whole new storyline n unique way of presenting it. from one case to another, he became more n more involved n familiar with the girls. majority of the anime was spent talking n debating over the most current supernatural issue. these were the conversations that make the anime so unique n worthwhile to catch.

Bleach: The Hell Verse (2010) 劇場版 地獄篇

skipping a year without releasing any Bleach's movie, its 4th movie was released in the Japanese theaters on December 4, 2010. the scene took place at an area never before mentioned in the manga (漫画), personally supervised by Bleach's creator - Tite Kubo (久保宣章). while Memories of Nobody (2006) centered around Ichigo (黒崎一護); The DiamondDust Rebellion (2007) centered around Hitsugaya-taichou (日番谷冬獅郎); Fade to Black (2008) centered around Rukia (朽木ルキア); Jigoku-hen (2010) however, doesn't seemed to focus on any character, but about a place that was forbidden by Soul Society - Hell. as eager as we are, the movie was yet available to the rest of the world. below are some trailers (for sharing purpose only). keep a sharp lookout for Ichigo (黒崎一護)'s transformation look!

Sherlock Holmes (2010)

Sherlock Holmes n his partner, Dr. Watson, was again engaged in a battle with a mysterious enemy. they finally successfully caught the serial killer, Lord Blackwood. he was then sentenced to hang by the neck until death. but when he mysteriously returned from the grave n continued killing the innocents, Holmes n Watson were forced to once again continued their investigation. they must find enough clues to lead them behind the scene of black magic Lord Blackwood claimed to punish those who didn't believe in his power.

being a huge fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's investigation novels since young age, Sherlock Holmes movie was equally a must-catch for me. however, i found it having a plot more suitable to be an action film than crime solving. unlike its novels where Holmes was presented as a person who put in a lot of thinking for his cases, Holmes presented on screen seemed to be a lot more hasty n careless. at some point, it even felt like the case was solved by pure luck.

Werecats #1: Stray (2007)

Stray (2007) is the first book of the Shifter series. Faythe is a female werecat, desperately trying to escape the Pride, a territory led by her father, which one day soon will be hers to rule. she wanted a "normal" human life, not ready of the responsibilities that include marriage n childbearing. her ex-fiancé, Marc, appeared one day at her college, informing her that 2 tabbies (female werecats, which were considered valuable to the werecat community) were kidnapped by Strays (humans who became werecats after being scratched or bitten by a werecat), thus she was summoned back to the Pride to be protected by her brothers n ex. but one mistake caused her to be the third tabby kidnapped. she had to fight to free herself n the remaining tabby against the Strays.

Working!! (2010) ワーキング

some students were doing part-time at a small family restaurant. Souta joined them after being recruited on the street by Popura, a high schooler easily mistaken as a elementary student, due to her small body size. they worked, together with their fellow colleagues, under a store manager that doesn't bother to do any work at all. as he got to know the others more, they had fun helping each other out, learning to get along. although the plot was fairly simple for the anime, it was highly entertaining n humorous! as their bond grew, it grew even more heartwarming n cozy.

Elating.

every muscle in their body screamed in protest to be released from its straining poses. until she was near unconsciousness will she stopped for a breather. pushing hard n moving rapidly forward until the place was squeaky clean. soon their hard work paid off, everything glimmered proudly back at them, showing off their beauty, catching their eyes not solely once but countless times! their satisfaction bloated, taking up all the space in their chest. we made a pretty good team, she grinned broadly n thought aloud.

Predators (2010)

they were the toughest n most elite personnel in the world, soldier, special force, mercenary, yakuza. chosen for their ability to kill, they were dropped into a jungle, which was located on a distant planet. the Predators were tailing them, learning, evolving n adapting by watching their every move. they were forced to push their limits, ability, n teamwork, against the Predators n their advance weapons, in order to survive.

like any Alien or Predator movies, they continued to successfully making it merciless n deadly. one after another they were killed, in ways so random n unimaginable. however the movie had a very weak plot, so weak it was almost insulting especially if compare to the previous Alien or Predator movies.

Tenebrous.

she held both her hands straight out in front of her, feeling her way around the room, straining her eyes in the hope of seeing into the darkness. the familiar body temperature that was usually so conveniently draped around her was nowhere within reach. she continued to roam anxiously in the dark, blinded from seeing where each step might land her in. it was suddenly unbearable, choking by her very own breath. the night continued to extend, coldness graciously remained to keep her company. she increased her speed only to be greeted by more darkness. that very moment, she was unable to imagine the Shift playing a part in her life.

Dracula the Undead (1997)

Dracula the Undead is the unofficial sequel to the famous classic novel Dracula (1897) by Bram Stoker. it has been 7 years since Dracula had a silver stake drove through his heart by Jonathan Harker, Quincey Morris, Abraham Van Helsing, n Jack Seward. the band of heroes succeeded in their quest, but were broken within resulted from the battle. Mina Harker remained visibly young after having a child with Jonathan, for her blood was tainted with Dracula's. Van Helsing aimed to draw an end to their fear by revisiting the castle, they found no trace of Dracula returning from death. but underneath the earth, Dracula's soul laid waiting to be revived.

it was refreshing that the novel was presented in a series of diaries n letters put together. everyone kept a journal of their life ever since the incident, n from there the different perspectives n emotions that they kept hidden from the others, even between partners in marriage. it was exciting as the story slowly progressed, n heated up from point to point, making it impossible to put down! its simple wordings managed to feed me its image clearly as well as experiencing the emotions of each character.

Contoured.

bit by bit the illusion became real. a wall came down as the space expanded; others taken over by different disposition. the agony of timeless waiting vanished, their senses were taken over completely by the thrill, the sensation. having everything done according to their likings, it begins to feel more n more like theirs, representing them, becoming their signature. it continue to evolve as the phase was far from its end. anticipation filled them, looking forward eagerly to what is to come.

Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009)

she became a financial journalist just to get into the world's most famous fashion magazine company. things turned havoc when her shopping addiction got out of hand n debtors came looking for her in the office. a humorous film worth catching on a lazy sunday afternoon. she looked both adorable n desperate, making her so much more suitable for the main cast, it was definitely a huge add to its simple plot.

Zodiacs: Control

2010 Best Animation Movie Blog

after 3 months, on 16th December 2010, it was official that the Nomination was finalized. from what i understand, n probably assumed, "animation" meant anime (japanese animation) or any production such as what was often seen by Pixar Studios. but according to the judges, it was mostly just movies that they considered, while anime served solely as a boost.

together with another nominated blog - Cinemarvellou (a movie blog), we managed to be the top 2 blogs in their list. n from the conversations of the judges (below), we ended up sharing instead of competing for the award - 2010 Best Animation Movie Blog.

Tron: Legacy (2010)

Sam's father, a programmer who designed the virtual world, went missing when he was still a child. growing up, he became rebellious n loved pushing his own luck n limits. lastly he ended up inside the digital world his father created. however, meeting the characters in his childhood's bedtime story as told by his father, was far more different than what he expected. him, the User, had to fight to survive the games, against the Programs. n together with an unique ally, an ISO (Isomorphic Algorithms, a race of Programs that are self-created inside the digital world), they had to escape the digital world - The Grid.

a continuation from the last sequel - Tron (1982), it is highly recommended to watch its original sequel before proceeding to Legacy (2010). everything that was in Legacy was what was expected of Tron, only better! besides, when our visuals were taken over by the impressiveness of the highly detailed graphics, we were nowhere near confusion, knowing exactly what to look out for. n that definitely make one appreciate the enhancements of our graphical technologies.

one could ask for so much, yet not realizing all the precious treasures laying just within reach. love being valuable for its imperfectness; family being valuable for its bluntness; friendship being valuable for its compassionateness; faith being valuable for its simplicity. many unseen necessity one could never ask for, only waiting to be granted upon. it took more than a conscious nudge to truly see, it took higher than the average mind to truly appreciate the suffering n challenges, which were never meant to break, but to build. today leads to tomorrow, time will be lost, but what the mind absorbed will not be.
