Jack met with the beautiful Princess Isabelle while selling his horse in the market. when the town was turned upside down with horsemen chasing down a monk, Jack trade his horse with the monk and was given a handful of beans to protect. his uncle was furious, tossing the beans away. that night when Jack was alone in his house, the Princess arrived, having been running away form the castle. the rain made the beans grew and they were carried high into the sky. when the Princess was took away by a giant, Jack was determine to rescue the princess with the help of the King's guards.
while the plot was very straightforward, we sat tight waiting to be impressed throughout the film. unlike Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013), Jack the Giant Slayer (2013) was a great disappointment. being a newly released film, it felt old, if not shallow. there were little character developments. Jack and the Princess were typical main characters with no depths attached. however the bad guy Lord Roderick succeeded in becoming a distasteful character and Knight Elmont was equally worship-worthy. the film in general was only enough to impress children but not the adult audiences.
