Case 39 (2009)

Case 39

Emily was a social worker. she fought to save a girl, Lilly, from her abusive parents. after having Lilly's psychotic parents locked up in prison, she took an interest in the child when Lilly requested to live with her while waiting to be adopted. it got more n more obvious that Lilly was not who she appeared to be. neither were her parents mentally crazy when they intended to destroy her.

tension increased rapidly throughout the film, especially when it reached a point where it was so clear where the story was heading. yet knowing doesn't reduce its edginess at all. some scenes were so creepy it was difficult not to look around ourselves, making sure the kid was nowhere near us. at that point, the psychological taunt presented was awesome. we didn't have too much of a fright, yet enjoyed a good chill down our spine.

  3. OMG, I saw this movie last month on DVD and LOVED it! What amazed me was that it started out making you believe one thing, and then turned around and TOTALLY shocked you with something else.

I was on in the edge of my seat with suspense!

The actress who portrayed the little girl was BRILLIANT!

    Excellent review, Levian!

i can understand. i spent quite many years unable to enjoy movies of these genre. therefore i don't assume everyone love it either.

it was you who triggered my curiosity on the movie! i searched for it right after reading your comment on it. n obviously i got attracted, but slightly afraid when i clicked on it. she was so believing! n so threatening, she was definitely good!
