15 elite students were gathered at a high class and very special high school. if they were able to graduate meant that they would definitely be able to succeed in life, which made graduating very difficult. the school was led by a bear called Monokuma. he explained that their graduation could be achieved through murder. they had to kill one of their classmates and able to get away with it. once the killed identity was discovered, the killed would be executed, else the others would be killed instead.
despite not being able to make the originally interesting storyline attractive, the series and its idea was captivating to watch. the main problem laid in its pacing. there were no exact main character for the series. everyone was introduced all at once but unfortunately, with only little character development they were unable to outshine one another. with only 13 episodes to explore, the series spent all its time on the murder mystery, sacrificing character development, backstory, even the time spent on investigation. every 2-episodes were spent on a cycle for murder, investigation and trial. the repetitive cycle slowly revealed the true killer.
