the story continued where it left off in the first season. Haruka continued her effort to become a famous composer, together with her friends Otoya, Masato, Natsuki, Tokiya, Ren, Syo, and Cecil. the boys wanted to become idols, but it won't be easy for them as they had to pass a strict exam, supervised by idols Reiji, Ranmaru, Ai, and Camus.

for those who enjoyed the first season, this installment would be equally entertaining. surprisingly while most sequels failed to impress or overtake its predecessor, this season proven otherwise. the series continued to be lighthearted and fun to watch. even though the series had so much potential and coverage to explore, with only 13 episodes and so many characters, it was difficult to go into every background. but with only 1 girl in the center, each viewer would eventually root for one guy to successfully get the girl.

War of Desire (2011) 凰图腾

Fengyan was an orphan girl adopted into the Ning family. she became great friends with Caidie, the only child of Ning family. they were both in love with Feihung, their childhood friend, where Feihung returned Fengyan's love. one day, due to certain circumstances, Fengyan replaced Caidie on her tasks of entering the palace to become the emperor's concubine. being in the palace, Fengyan slowly changed as she schemed for attention and power among the concubines, where Caidie joined soon after.

despite having 49-episodes, the series was fast paced and easily watched in one sitting if possible. it was a tale of 3 friends, focusing on their friendship and love as they went through trials in the palace, fighting for survival. things were much more simpler before Caidie joined Fengyan in the palace. her original intention of fighting against Fengyan soon became purely survival. in the end when they thought things could returned to them being children, they couldn't. in many ways, Fengyan and Caidie were opposite characters. Fengyan was tough and often reflective, while Caidie remained innocent and idealistic at times. as for Feihung, he often gave up everything for these 2 girls, even the Emperor's seat. he remained the most frustrating character to watch among the trio.

Aura: Maryuuinkouga Saigo no Tatakai (2013) AURA～魔竜院光牙最後の闘い～

Ichirou called himself Maryuin Koga, behaving like he was a hero in a fantasy world. this strange behavior caused his classmates to bully him, where he eventually left the school. in the new school, he tried to behave like a normal boy. one day he met a girl with a blue cape, who called herself a researcher travelling from the other world. at first, Ichrou rejected Ryouko for she reminded him of his embarrassing past. but the moment she got bullied, he couldn't help but to regain his role as Maryuin Koga.

despite the seemingly ordinary plot that focused on Chuunibyo and its victim, especially the bullying part, the film was evenly paced thus enjoyable in its very own way. there were almost no twists to its plot, everything being completely predictable, yet still remained surprisingly entertaining. in many ways, the film remained believable and natural. the dialogues especially, helped along the way. drama wise, it was sweet and sincere, even heartbreaking at some point.

Blemished #3: The Unleashed (2013)

Mina were surprised to find her supposedly-dead mother paying her a visit at the compound. she became angry that her father had lied to her, furthermore, her mother was from the GEM, the organization that wanted to destroy all Blemished. while the other Freaks felt unsure towards Anna, Mina completely adored her elegant mother. when Anna drugged her into leaving the compound with her, Mina was more than happy to comply. in his mission to find Mina, Daniel and the remaining Freaks got involved with the Resistance, who was planning a war against the GEM.

i received free e-books for the series from the author in exchanged for a review. among the 3 books of the series, i found myself enjoying the first book the most for its innocence. third book into the series focused more and more on other individuals whom i was less attracted to. in a way the perspectives was interesting, but none too difficult to imagine. as helpless as Mina was in her situation, she continued to be a likable character. the only part that was less believable was how short her grief for her father's death was after shutting down with shock. at this point, everything felt rushed and less engaging. fortunately the urge of wanting to know how things end pulled me through until the very end. it was pleasant to know that things fell perfectly into place after all the struggles.
